gustie Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 hi i have just stripped my trusty nf2b and chopped out the fan grille in the cheiftec case i have here to help drop the case temp... also AS5'd the northbridge an a newly lapped heatsink. the weird thing is that something unusual happened. mbm5 reports.... BEFORE AFTER CASE 37
soundx98 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Actually on the NF2 boards the only thing that MBM5 is close on are the case temp (sensor towards the center of board) and the CPU temp (measured on the thermal diode). It shows a reading for the CPU Diode but I am not sure that is what it is measuring Technically the NF2 chipset doesn't have thermal sensing capability. Keep the CPU, Northbridge, AND Southbridge as cool as you can.
gustie Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 it say the diode dropped from 32 down to 17 thats a big drop! so that could be mbm5 lying to me then..
soundx98 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Programs aren't really smart enough to lie. But from my experience I do not think it is a vaild reading nor is the chipset temp.
