red930 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 I had an Aspire PSU that went (Came with the Q-pack). A friend of mine had the same case and he took a Opty 165 to 2.95 (I was surprised). Too bad he couldn't prime it for too long or the rails dropped too much. I would stick with something that's a little more reliable
red930 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 Might want to rethink the PSU. I mean for the nFORCE4 motherboards it's recommended to have a PSU with stable rails and at least 520w (overclocking, many components), so i'm assuming for the new nFORCE5 it will either be the same or something has changed. I would double check that since the PSU is the heart of the system (My opinion).

old_geekster Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 You have to make a decision. Do you want problem free computing or do you want to be constantly fighting battles. An under-powered PSU will give you the latter. I am sure you have read many of the posts from people "on the edge" from fighting problems. Is it worth the problems? You have to decide. SeanDude05 Posted July 16, 2006 Posted July 16, 2006 One question: Why a open-box/refurbished motherboard? Why take that chance?
