lazlo Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 ok heres the thing! I can get one of these boards for 50 bucks AUD so like $27 USD My problem is I have heard from mates thses boards are very picky with what other parts are used RAM and PSU's mainly So will i be able to rum some generic ram in it and what powersuply does it need in particular? Advice on parts will be great!
Daddyjaxx Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Generic RAM...it may work or it may not. PSU's: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854 DFI boards are designed for overclockability. Cheap generic RAM and weak PSU's are not.
Uncle_Mojo Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Your stuff MAY work on that board, but if you go with quality, recommended RAM and PSU you are much more likely to have a trouble-free build. If you're wanting to build a machine on the cheap, you should probably go with a board that is more "forgiving" of lower quality components.
