BaconthefatPig Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 How good is the onboard sound? I'm not a sound freak but would like to have a basically good sound. I use 5.1 speaker system or headphones (duh). Would it be worth it to pay for a card.
Fum Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Onboard is pretty good, well, decent enough. If you're a gamer, then use the 4.62 audio drivers from nvidia.com as it has better eax. If you mostly listen to music then use the drivers from the cd.
Sage2050 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 i had to RMA my mobo a few months back, and the audio drivers that came on the new CD were different from my old ones. i'm not happy with the realtek audio drivers, and im looking for a good driver to use for my 2.1 system (i play games and listen to music simultaneously most often)
Shredman Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I've got an Audigy 1 soundcard in my old rig...should I transfer that over? Basically I'm a gamer and I want the least impact on the CPU.

Yes, as long as the card supports the games you play then it would be better than onboard.
