ron_jeremy Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 865PE-Infinity rev B1 BIOS date: 2004/12/28 (it's the latest) Every time I start/reboot this compy I have to wait ages for the Realtek network boot rom to finish looking for a DHCP server. Then XP proceeds to load fine. I have the BIOS boot order set as: HDD CDROM Floppy and even tried setting to HDD only (no other boot devices). I don't even see an option to disable the LAN boot rom. The only way I've found is to disable the NIC altogether. Any ideas?
red930 Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I didn't see it in the downloadable manual, but see if you can find "Disable LAN Boot ROM" somewhere in the BIOS.
ron_jeremy Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 There's no such option, only to disable the adapter itself. Nothing to do with boot rom in every page of the BIOS.
red930 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Would you per-chance have 'Other' enabled in the boot sequence?
ron_jeremy Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Nope.
