Raife Posted June 23, 2002 Posted June 23, 2002 All the AMD materials say not to use a thermal grease but instead "thermal phase-change material" It goes on to state "Thermal grease can be used for short term testing and validation. When used for a longer period, thermal grease has a tendency to be pumped out from the gap between the processor adn the heatsink due to the differing thermal expansion and contraction rates of the aluminium heatsink and the processor." What gives - I thought Artic Silver would be better than what comes on the bottom of the Volcano 7 I bought. Any insight??
