X2 3800 Upgrade help.

Recommended Posts

I just received my new x2 3800. Yahoooooooooooooooooo!

My system is as in sig right now. Do I need to do anything as far as the bios? I mean voltage for instance? I am probably going to put speeds at stock (200mhz) before I pop in the new processor.

Secondly, would it be better to just add 2 more 512mb balistix tracers, or would I be better off replacing the 2 512mb's with 2 1gb sticks? In other words is it better to use 4 sticks or 2? I sure would like to salvage the 2 512mb modules I have as they have worked flawlessly @ the speeds in my sig. I mean not one glitch no matter what I have thrown at them for weeks now. Thanks in advance for advice.

Ok, as I said I did plan to set stock speeds before the upgrade. How about the memory someone?

Also what is stock volts for x2 3800?

I believe stock volts are anywhere between 1.35 to 1.45 as per AMD's web site...Though when I first got mine and had it at auto it hovered around 1.29 no probs...I have since overclocked and it now stands at 1.39 at 2.5GHz...Nice right?

Also using a XP-90...
