Sharp Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Hello, If you have a PCI sound card it does not matter. (as you will be plugging all your speakers into the Audigy2). Plus you have disabled it.
s.win Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 the option for disabling it in the bios: is it only for the alc850 or for both? cos as i remember the option sounds something like "97" and this is only for als850 i thought? thanks anyway! Sharp Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 The board's sound is generated by the ALC850 codec. And the ALC850 can output sound through the SPDIF connector *or the MCP can output sound through the SPDIF. *The MCP does not generate any sound, it uses the ALC850 codec too. The codec sends its data to the MCP which processes it into SPDIF output. So both SPDIF outputs use the ALC850 codec.
