red930 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Overall, it is better than the 03/25 BIOS. LightSpeed is still having difficulty with certain D0/D1 CPUs.
Guest LightSpeed Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Overall, it is better than the 03/25 BIOS. LightSpeed is still having difficulty with certain D0/D1 CPUs. Actually I would like to clear this up...it is not ME having the issue with D0 stepping CPU, it is DFI that cannot clearly see the difference in numbers and variance in CPU stepping. Now how could MY D0 stepping CPUs (all of them, and every D0 I have seen others post results from) be different from DFI tech support results? The answer is simple... there is no difference; DFI just likes to ignore blatant issues. I think it is amusing how anyone could try to say anything otherwise...you all know what L1 and L2 cache are, right? Now tell me what logical reason there would be for the numbers to be around half what they should be, and why the SAME RAM is giving higher bandwidth #s using the EXACT SAME SETTINGS? It is impossible in the real world for a CPU to not out-perform another CPU with slower cache; never mind this situation with 10% higher uncached memory bandwidth with 50% more cache speed at the same FSB...simply ridiculous. P.S. NO P4 should have the L1 cache <20k http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...38&page=2&pp=
