Hi,

want to make this post to help all people setting up a RAID 0 config on their SLI-D when using the NVraid controller. I seen several threads here describing how you can make a ghost image but not a single thread explains how to restore that image back on your raid 0 arrays so that it still works:( It apparently works when using the SIL sata raid controller but not with the NVRAID controller(and nvraid is the only way to go for people who haven't got the ULTRA-DR or SLI-DR boards).

So my question now is as follows, how to make an image and restore it succesfully?? It doesn't necessarily have to be with norton ghost, you can explain how it works with other programs as well. I have access to Norton Ghost 9.0(aka Norton Ghost 2005)myself and am planning on buying a second raptor to switch over to a RAID 0 setup but I will only buy a second raptor if I know for sure that I can back up my windows install and restore it again when one of my drives or my array fails.

So all you guru's out there, start posting and help us mere noobs out there. I need to be sure it works else it will be 140$ down the tube for nothing:) This post will help other people having the same issues as me, and from looks of it its alot of people here.

thnx alot

Have a looksy here,

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/ind...hp/t-81746.html

it seems the latest build of Acronis True Image can handle NVraid, I am anxious to see if it really does what it says it can do:) Might be worth checking out, I cannot check if it works so if anyone else running RAID 0 from the nvraid controller and wants to check out the free trial to see if it really works then lemme know!!

Also look at this post,

and scroll down a bit and you will see an official Acronis representative speak about how they received the open source code for nvraid and have succesfully implemented it into their software(only in latest builds).

We are glad to tell you that after a long discussion with NVidia we are now able to implement the support for NVRAID. We expect the new build with this feature to be available at update page (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/updates/) soon. If you wish to get it earlier please send a letter with your serial number and the descirption that you need Acronis True Image with NVRAID support to [email protected] and we will certainly help you.

Will give it a readthrough, but have already mailed the guys from Acronis and am awaiting their response, if it works flawlessly with their tool then I will go with that:)
