EvilDead Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Not too significant. I can live with that. Sharp: I forgot to mention that the option for "32 Byte Granularity" did not have "disable (8 bursts)" as a choice in my BIOS. I set it to "disable (4 bursts)" instead. Sharp Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Different BIOS/CPU core might be why the Burst settings are different. I am using an old BIOS with a Winchester CPU. The burst setting should not effect stability but 8 is suppose to be faster. Another experiment for me to try So is everything ok now? EvilDead Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Sharp & all the rest who posted: 23 passes (10 + hours) with Sharp's suggested BIOS settings + dual channel + a hot day in Boston. Looks like im good to go Thanks for all your help. Battlefield here I come! Edit: Spoke a little too soon. Played on the computer for a little while wiht no crashes . Later I ran Memtest twice more (to be sure) and I recieved 1 strange error both times. 1 test was for 2 1/2 hours and the other for 8. Both errors were on test 6 and occurred at 0 MB and 14 MB. I noticed that the reported voltages were going over 2.8 so I lowered it to 2.7 and will be running Memtest again all day. Note: I recieved my UPS yesterday and I moved my computer to reduce the wire mess. It is always possible that something could have shifted out of place. I reseated the RAM and Video card this morning.
