Jules_Verne Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Hi, I've had trouble getting the on-board Gigabit LAN working, so today I tried installing an ethernet driver and NAM from the older 4.24 unified driver (been using 5.10 for the rest of the chipset), and so far it seems to work just fine. My question is: can the included firewall replace my Norman firewall? Is it safe enough?
Prostock62 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 My lan hasnt work right sence i got the board so i added a card to solve the problem.Iwas getting a connection but i would have to wait 2 or 3 min.Tried bios, drivers no luck.Iam now using a router. Jules_Verne Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 But won't two firewalls conflict with eachother?
Tom Brohanks Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 1. Always use the network driver that comes with the motherboard CD. You will find it on a cd conveniently titled "DRIVERS" 2. Software firewalls = trash. If you are really concerned, get a hardware based firewall solution.
