Board won't boot

Recommended Posts

I have the 4 LEDs lit problem with my new PC. I have a 3800+ Venice which I assumed was the problem, so I flashed it to BIOS 623, but it didn't help. If I reset the CMOS for an hour I can get it to boot once or twice at most.

Is there a better BIOS I can try, or is my board broken? If I can get past the POST then it seems to run fine till the next reboot.

Same here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19796. I'm rma'ing... what's the correct procedure? just mail it to dfi?

FYI, i'm shifting to asus a8n premium, not because i don't believe DFI got a great performance board here but from all the threads i've seen relating to non-posting issue, it seems more like a QC problem. My last board was a nforce 2 board, asus a7n8x and i've never gotten any problem with it. I've heard people said dfi board is hard to set up, but didn't know it's this hard.

Lol, I was just about to link your thread as well. It's kind of irritating not to hear anything from DFI on this issue. After all, I logged in, read their stickies, read their pledges to support if we followed the rules... and nothing. Fortunately, Monarch Computer is just down the road from me. It's like, just one more thing to have to do after work :)

Edit:
