  1. Had the exact same issue on a Ultra-D. New power supply did the trick, so I'd suggest you try that (went from 350 to 600 Watts).
  2. Fourth and final update on this thread. Just installed my OCZ GXS 600W PSU and everything boots up just fine. The old Antec one was apparently way too weak You can add me to the list of "solved issues by replacing PSU"! [edit] Nevermind, last error was a code 18. Everything is fine now [/edit]
  3. Third update, after going through a lot of forum posts. I have ordered an OCZ GameXStream 600W ATX12V 24PIN from NCIX.com (which is Canada's equivalent of Newegg) for CAD140$, tax and shipping included. I'll update this post tomorrow after I get it to let you know if this solved my problem, so that you can add my post to the list of "solved by replacing the PSU" problems
  4. An update on my status. I have checked the voltage output of my current PSU (the Antec one, SP-350, that came with my SLK1650B case) and it's outputting the correct power from every pin except one, pin #14, that should output -12V, is reading at -11V. Every other pin (Molex connectors, the 4 pin, 12V one) are outputting the correct voltages. Could this be the source of the problem? Is that -12V, down to -11V on my PSU, could prevent the computer from booting? Also, the PSU, when plugged in, emits a relatively high pitch noise. My knowledge of electronics tells me it's a capacitor thing and I believe it shouldn't be making noise. Thank you, Julien Nadeau
  5. Thank you for the quick reply, tasr. I do have the 4 power cables connected to the motherboard. I'll consider buying a PSU from OCZ if I can't get mine to work. I have another question, that's related to my first post: is it possible that the power/standy led would light up even if the PSU is fried?
  6. Hi, as you can see, I'm kinda new here, looking for some advice. I have the following machine: DFI LANParty UT NF4 Ultra-D Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 3200+ EVGA E-GEFORE 7600 GT, 256 MB Corsair Value Select PC3200, 2x512 MB RAM Pioneer DVR-111D DVD-RW Samsung Spinpoint P Series 250 Gb, Sata2 Recently installed Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 All of which is stuffed into an ANTEC SLK1650B case with an ATX12V 350W PSU that came with it. Today, I got home and the machine wouldn't boot. Tried unplugging stuff, resetting what I could think of, unplugging the new hard drive, but nothing helped. I know I have a relatively weak PSU (350 Watts is probably very low for the kind of power needed by the machine), however it has been serving me fine for the last 8-9 months. So, I am suspecting that the power supply might be faulty, but I do get the power standby led to light up when the power supply is "on": could this mean the power supply is still working fine and that my problem is elsewhere? Or is this completely unrelated? I do not have another PSU at hand to try and swap it with the one I currently use, so I would like a second opinion before I go out to buy a more powerful and more expensive PSU to replace my old one. Thank you very much,
