I had a problem like that on my old board, about 4 times. 3 of the 4 it was the vid card, the last was a capacitor popped...look at them and see if the top is bubbled out.

I have decided to go with at SATA hard drive and now looking to find how to clone my old ata to it. Anyone that has done this please help. Do I need to load any drivers? Should any program be used to do this or is the dos xcopy good enough. I found a good link on that here. http://www.infinisource.com/resources/Comp...hard-drive.html Any info would be great as I don't want to reinstall all my programs and I am not really looking to upgrade to vista any time soon. Also what files and where to put them would be great as I have never done this. I am looking but when you search for this kind of stuff you get a lot of info that doesn't help. Thanks!

Did you have to load the Sata drives and if so, how do you do this?

jjeffreys, what did you use to clone your drives with? Just DOS command Xcopy? or something else? Thanks for the fast replies.

So if I buy two and then clone my os hard drive I have now. Then put them in RAID 0, will that work, or will I have to reinstall all my stuff?

I am looking to get a new hard drive and I currently have two very old ATA Maxtors. Should I change to SATA or stick with ATA. Is there anything I should know on setting up SATA hard drives. I do have a slight OC as you can see from my sig. Thanks

I have no problem, just did a search for this and found nothing for the nf3 ultra-d, there was stuff for the nf4 and the nf3 250 but not for the ultra-d. Just trying to get the info out there and learn as much as I can about my board. Thanks for the great info, I know it will help someone else and it has helped me!

is it safe to put heat sinks on them? will they touch the metal contact points?

so what chip should i be cooling, can you show me w/ a circle? I will try to move a fan over it and see if the temps change at all
