  1. wanna hear somthing really funny/stupid. i put the bios from my lan party b into my m7ncd and it booted fine.... any ideas now, it's obviously not the bios... could my mobo be gone?
  2. i already did flash the bios, as the above post says. flashed it with the 2 most recent bioses from the tmod boot cd and still got 4 led's of death. also tried to start my mobo w/ m7ncd (phoenix bios) and nothing still. it's like it's totally fubar. even tried to start w/ no bios chip installed and got the same result as with the phoenix bios chip installed. both times i hotflashed it said it was succesful and all the blocks tuned white.
  3. Okay , back from lan party now!!! Had to use my stupid old m7ncd but at least got me going. Tried hotflashing bios by putting chip into m7ncd and using tmod's boot cd to no avail. all the memory i have here is pc-3200 so i'll look around. insert key trick didn't work, bios/cmos was clearing the whole time i was gone (48hours)... now what's next rma? do i just e-mail tech support and wait... i assume so, that's aboout al i can find on dfi support site. how long will this take to return.... thanks in advance. oh and about the insert key thing, does it need to be ps/2 or usb keyboard, i know sometimes my board doesn't like the usb logitech g15 in bios. also, when beeps/monitor powers on do i release insert or keep it held down? this sounds like it may reqiure <1 person to pull off....
  4. yes, the m7ncd is a biostar and i have some via chips on a funky off brand board (mach speed). yes, i have tried putting in the old chip and to the same result.
  5. Hey i got an m7ncd here, not sure which chip nb us but south bridge is and nforce2 mcp. is that good news? i see a: phoenix bios d686bios chip w/ some other numbers under it... other than that only via chipsets. woulnd't i know this would happen the night before the biggest lanparty here in MI, damn you... damn you...
  6. (fluff)Hi, i've been a happy user of my dfi motherboard ever since i've had it, but tonight i ran into some big problems. Tonight i got a 3200+ from a friend and went to upgrade to it from my 2200+. Did everything then booted up and immediately turned off, i knoew from experience this meant improper heat sink seating, so i removed it and redid the as5 and yadaa... (good stuff)Then tunred it on and nothing happened. Looked and all my diagnostic lights were red, usually a good thing. Reset it then i noticed all lights were red from push of the power button. Not a good/normal thing. This is all happening w. my profile rig btw. I tried Everything. Different power supply antec (380w true power). different video card (ati radeon 9800pro) and rearranged all memory into different slots and just 1 module at a time. Fearing a short i completely removed the mobo from case and laid it on carpet floor and it does the exact same thing. I have no clue where to go from here... any info woul be great and more than appreciated. Thanks in advace you guys. Some other factoids: activity light for network goes on no video output at all hard drive lights up and stays lit Keyboard show sign of life Thanks again.
