The memory card readers on my combo drive dont show such as g,k,j...etc What is the problem? when i plug in a sd card the computer does nothing...

I opened up my case to use the usb ports in the front of my pc...ok simply just hooked up the cable...everthing was fine...I attached a usb 2.0 flash drive everything worked... 30 min later my usb mouse stopped working and my headphones gave feedback and my computer studdeered and the computer shuts down............ tried to unplug the gcable etc nothing works..........I used the grounding cable...HELP.... I need my computer for my online Astronomy class for working papers and i currently at the library..... THIS is the 3rd time I've delt with ECS motherboards.... I'm fortunate that this is my b-day and I have extra cash.. I need a socket 754 MOBO if it is the problem no xcheap brands...

Is the Fotron PSU quiet? I've decided to get a power supply and wait on the video card... B:) Cause Like I said I have a cheap 250-300 Watt PSU that came with my case....
