Onboard sound Choppy

i recently added another vid card to my Gigabyte GA-7VTX motherboard with onboard sound. so that i could run 2 monitors in unison, that works great but when i plugged the card in i noticed that my sound quality dropped because i have small scatches in my music that didnt used to be there! (and its not on CD, who uses those anymore?) but i also noticed when i take the video card out it goes back to normal, but it acts the same way when i have the vid card out and i up the cpu frequency... im wondering if my mother board cant handle so much at once, i have all my pci's taken up and my agp of course... and they are all in constand use, i was wondering if i might not be making my motherboard work to hard?! any idea would help p.s. i have also tried taking out my USB card and putting in a soundblaster live and it was actually worse than my onboard.
