It looks like a number of former THQ properties are being reunited, years after the publisher's bankruptcy. Today it was announced THQ Nordic, formerly Nordic Games, has purchased Koch Media, the owner of Deep Silver. In the THQ Nordic press release on the acquisition, it is stated that while Deep Silver has had some less successful game releases, it has still maintained a long history of profitability. Koch Media will operate as an independent entity and there are no plans for restructuring or cost saving programs. However, THQ Nordic's management will be involved, to help ensure the Koch Media's products reach their full potential in the future. Also there may be synergies, such as partnerships between the two groups' IPs, assets, and development capacities to drive success. Such a combination increases the development capacity and pipeline, publishing capacity, and obviously the number of intellectual properties, which should increase the flexibility of the company and make operations more stable.

If you are wondering what former THQ properties the two companies had purchased following the publisher's bankruptcy, here are some I remember; Deep Silver had acquired the Saints Row franchise and its developer Volition, the Metro, Risen, Dead Island, and Homefront franchises; while THQ Nordic acquired the Darksiders, Titan Quest, and Red Faction franchises. A number of these franchises have games in development currently, including Metro Exodus and Darksiders III, both of which are expected to launch later this year. Now, once again, these franchises will be under the same umbrella, along with all of the original IPs both companies have.
