Guest_Jim_* Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 We do not have many, if any, 7 nm-based products available on the market yet, but to keep ahead of competition, TSMC is expected to break ground for its 5 nm fab sometime this week. This new fab will be located in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, which is also the location the company will build its 3 nm fab in 2020. As TSMC currently has a lead in 7 nm production orders, even managing to outbid Samsung on Apple's order for iPhone processors, it is certainly eager to press its advantage to maintain dominance. Samsung is continuing to work on its 4 nm process and only time will tell how it will compare to TSMC's 5 nm node.
