  1. awesome, cheers dude... well ive actually already ordered it lol... i just had a little panic coz its all arriving today and i just wanted to put my mind at ease lol i ordered it from pc case gear, to my knowledge, they are the best way to get hardware in australia thanks again
  2. hey guys and gals of OCC... i just need to know if all this will work ok... im pretty sure it will, but my main concers would be the power supply (is it ok for a long term option) there isnt going to be a dedicated GPU so hopefully its all good 1 Vantec ION2+ 600N Ultra Quiet PSU 1 CoolerMaster V8 CPU Cooler 2 G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL (2x2GB) DDR3 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB WD1002FAEX 1 HighPoint Rocket RAID 620 Controller 2 Enermax T.P Apollish 140mm Blue LED Fan 1 Intel Core i3 2100 1 ASUS Sabertooth P67 Motherboard B3 1 LG GH22NS70 22x DVD-RW Drive OEM 1 BitFenix Shinobi Case 1 Thermalright X-Silent 120mm Fans (4 pack)
  3. haha trust me i tried explaining that... he insists on 1TB hdd oh well, its his money lol
  4. haha yeah ill get the 2x2 coz id rather justify the extra cash spent than have to justify why the new computers are crap lol
  5. if i run that ram dual channel will it still be compatable?
  6. AWESOME! very helpful, cheers man and pc casegear is where im getting my stuff from Champ... cheers man
  7. it does have that ram on the list of compatable ram for the mobo.... so im assuming it should be ok (i bloody hope it is or im not gunna be happy) but ill take into account what you said about dual channel, cheers theyre a small ofiice pc so they wont be running anything too hardcore the other problem i face is that for some reason my boss insists on ordering all my parts from www.pccasegear.com.au so im limited as to what i can actually order (for example, they dont sell 1gig ddr3) with the hardware ive specified though, can you see it, like, not working when im finished? lol
  8. I have been tasked with both buying the parts for, and building 4 new office computers for work. I'm confident that there arnt any issues with the build but im ordering the parts today and im having a bit of a panic because if i order the wrong hardware, im responsible. Just wanted to run it past the very capable members of the OCC forums to see if you can see any issues. i dont need recomendations on cheaper or better parts, i just need to know if there are any major issues. Cheers for any help Here Is The Build: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-D525TUD mini-ITX Motherboard CPU: integrated in the mobo Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM (2x2GB) DDR3 just going to use individual 2 gig sticks as single channel kits (will this work ok?) HDD: Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB HD103SJ Optical: Samsung SH-222AB SATA DVDRW Drive Case: Aywun A1-1001 Black Cube mini-ITX Case Any help as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated
  9. mission accomplished overheated and wont boot... getting a complete network makeover next week cheers for all the help guys... really really appretiate it
  10. btw... if things catch fire... there will be photos haha
  11. and its not gunna hurt the bussines... after tax time, this upgrade really isnt going to cost all that much, and productivity will incrrease a rediculous ammount.... consider this tough love lol
  12. Believe me, ive tried explaining all this to her... on a few ocasions the problem is there is no dedicated server (so her computer is the meain work computer and also runs the network) so all the computers have been clogged with so much crap that they cant handle it anymore... all it will take is for one computer to screw up for me to be able to convince her to get a new computer... and since we will be replacing one pc... ill get her to replace the rest while we are at it (and possibly get a dedicated server as well) im aware that this is a bad way to do it... but seriously... the system is so slow its counter productive in this instance... i think the end justifies the means gunna jam the fan and run prime 95 now
  13. and ive already overclocked but due to the old hardware and the limited BIOS it wont let me push it too far
  14. its quite old hardware but onfortunately i had to clean it out yesterday while installing a new optical drive... ideally i should have just wedges some steel wool under the cpu then but the idea didnt hit me till after id closed it up... the advantage i have is that none of the other staff are remotely tech savvy and we have no IT guy (im the closest thing they have and im trying to fry the computers... go figure lol) so providing there wasnt an obvious message that came up after screwing the os (like "hey man... reinstall me and itll be sweet" lol) i should be able to get away with it. and suggestions as to what regestry entries id have to get rid of?
  15. haha as effective as beer and paperclips sound... this has to be done from my keyboard... if there is any registry file that i can get rid of to stop the pc from booting properly...or any way to force my cpu to overwork and "fry"... lay it on me lol
