  1. I worked out that Vista install it's bootloader onto my 200gb non-raid sata drive along with it's boot directory. So if set the my boot drive as the 200gb it boots into vista . Does anyone know howto get vista to install cleanly onto a raid partition. If i remove the 200gb drive and then try and install Vista i get a system partition not found error. Thanks satpal
  2. I haven't really had any problem with 4.84 i just thought that if upgraded then i might be able to install vista on the raid partition. At the moment after i load the sata raid and then the sata driver from the latest nforce driver i can see the raid and partition it, however i can't install Vista as it says it can't find a valid system partition. This is when i have my 200gb sata drive uplugged. When i plug that in, Vista installs it's boot loader onto that drive along with the boot driectory that Vista uses. This is very strange :eek2: So if anyone knows howto install Vista onto a pure raid system them please let me know. Does this mean that T-Mods bios has a later version of the raid bios on it? Thanks satpal
  3. Hi all, I was wondering if there was a way of updating just the nvraid bios, rather than updating the entire bios. I currently have the NVraid bios version 4.84 and a NVMM version of 4.052.0805/20/05. My main bios is a TMOD one, I can't remember the version just off hand and it's been working solid, hence i don't want to upgrade it to a DFI bios with latest NVraid bios. Thanks satpal
  4. Quick question, Why would the opty handle 4 dimms better?? Thanks satpal
  5. I can see you point about getting the 185, however it's almost double the price of a 170, which is £77 and the 185 is £145. So my question is is the extra .6mhz worth double the cost??? Also do these processor have the virtualisation instructions or is that just the AM2 processors. Thanks satpal
  6. Hi all, I was just wondering if it would a good upgrade to go from my Athlon X64 3200 to a opteron 170, since you can get one fo these for around £75. I run the 3200 a stock speeds haven't overclocked it at all, I know i should but never got round to it. Also would the 170 run at a higher temp my 3200 runs at ~37 deg. I know that things have moved on along (alot) was since i bought my rig just over 2 years now, but just don;t want to spend too much money getting a new one together. I mainly do alot of c++ development, not much buy the way of games. What are your thoughts? Thanks Satpal
  7. Hi all, My setup is as follows: I'm pulling my hair out here a little. I have an install of windows XP (32bit) on my raid 0, on the first partition. I have a clean the next partition along so that i can install Vista 64 on it, as I have an Athlon 64. I manage to boot the Vista dvd and then go through the options. I load the latest Nforce Drivers and it find the correct partition and installs fine . When it reboots, it goes straight into WinXP no option for Vista?? I then edited the boot.ini so that it would look at the second partition. When i select this from the boot menu I get and error saying that ntoskrnl.exe cannot be found or is corrupt . Anyone any ideas whats going on. Thanks Satpal
  8. The thing is that i've been looking at: http://www.fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraXe...f6699548c50e9f2 It talks about the svm flag, but then i suppose the it's down to whether i have an AMD-V cpu. Not sure i do will check with cpu-z. Thanks satpal
  9. Hi, I was wondering if anyone of a virtualization/hypervisor option in the LanParty bios(shown in my sig). I need it as I'm running Fedora core 6 and am wanting to run Xen(VMware) to host another OS. Thanks satpal
