  1. TO ANGRY: yeah that's what I was thinking... it would probably take a lot of time... just adding this ram let me go almost 100mhz immediately above my old overclock, which is better then nothing... ALSO i'd like to say, OCZ gold ram is AWESOME... the timings are 3-4-4-8, i havn't even tried to change them... however when i load bf2 or alt tab while flying the chopper it takes no lag, and when I exit the game I don't hear the music at ALL now!! Basicly, i've noticed a BIG difference from the ocz 2gig kit from the four 512's I used to have... THANKS OCZ!!! *ram was 225$ on newegg... check it out!*
  2. I just read one of your posts "I could probably get 2750, or possibly even 2800-ish...but that could take me a whole month or two...it took me 11 days to get from 2200 to 2700 exactly how I like it (and plenty of RAID-0 testing for the thread stuck at the top of the Off Topic section about RAID/hdd's)...for another 50-150Mhz I don't even want to think about it. It doesn't matter how you get there really....as long as you get there...and have the right equipment to make the journey. and most importantly enjoy your stuff....you bought it to enjoy it...so take a break once in a while and enjoy it """" Ok, I just got my OCZ gold ram PC4000 and It let me take my overclock from 2.6 to 2.7 without changing much at all.... I've heard that I can get this setup to 2.8 or 2.9, but after reading angry-game's post.... is the extra 100-200mhz worth it?? and will it help much more without increasing the amount of heat I make.
  3. haha, so basicly your saying it would probably be a pain to get all four of the 512's to work right?? Does the ultra-d even support two sets of duell channel?
  4. the ram i'm looking at is 195$ and is the corsair xms pc3200 on newegg.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145491
  5. Was wanting to order another gig of ram... to make a total of 2gig... wondering if four 512 duel channel cards would work? If not, i guess i'll have to sell my gig and just order a 2gig kit...
  6. the game I play most now is battlefield 2.... that's why I was wanting the 2gig
  7. well i get paid friday, then I'LL BE ON IT!!!!! then maybe i'll wait a few weeks on ordering the 2gig of ram I was ABOUT to order thanks again lowboy!
  8. just thought i'd post the link to my PSU.... it's in with the pics of the case http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.as...ly%20-%20Retail even if the PSU does suck, for the 65$ I paid... not a bad looking case???
  9. yeah I saw that..... you said yours is 18 *same as mine* so we're assuming mine is overrated?? It actually shows a higher number on a different sticker on the PSU, but like in car-audio amplifiers, cheap brands always list a CRAZY max number, then hide their small RMS number in small print in a HUGE paragraph or something....
  10. ah yes amps.... that's what I thought you were talking about... one thing i know is electricity (i have been professionally installing car audio at a decent sized custom shop here in morgantown for quite a while now... and have been building systems for years) i'll post my psu's specs, let me read them really quick ahhh bingo... 18amps on the 12volt..... CRAP PSU!!!! *sigh* how much should I look to spend on a psu?
  11. The sound card that comes with the ultra-d is very easy to install... and it works great! You will just need to not install the drivers, but instead go download the newest realtek drivers *i had trouble with all 7 channels on the audio working on the drivers off the cd that comes with the mobo* after all of that is done the audio works great!! i'm running 7channel and mic in for bf2! *impressed*
  12. "is the PSU a native 24 pin. DFI recommends a minimum of 480W. There are connectors on the MOBO. are all four plugged in." I've been told that my 450watt psu that came in the case I bought wouldn't last "very long" That first quote was from a post on this forum... How accurate is that, AND should I be ordering a new PSU from newegg today? thanks kids
  13. THANK YOU! I've been overclocking for about a month now... busy schedule of class, now i'm on break so I actually have time, but I have been working TONS..... Going through those guides can be very confusing at times, a lot of the time it's easier not to ask what to set them to, but ask for a further definition of to what certain things mean.... within 15mins of this post I had one rude comment to me BUT I had TWO comments that totally helped me understand the ldt/fsb... I think I actually just needed to know that ldt/fsb = htt!! *wow if i knew that DFI had a different name for EVERYTHING i would be done!*
  14. TO anyone trying to learn overclocking, go to overclock.net, there are less dummies and everyone will be GLAD and will ENJOY trying to put the answers to your questions in simple terms, they will TELL YOU STRAIGHT UP things like "ldt is just like HTT, even though your mobo calls it something differetn" etc... AND you will NEVER get those dummies who say "you havn't been doing your reading" I've learned doing your reading doesn't work well, because i've asked questions using direct quotes and i've had people say "that guide is CRAP don't follow that" BE CAREFUL BE NICE TO THE NOOBS, HELP THEM LEARN
