  1. Where do you get 405 or 6-23 bios? Do you have a link? Is it really for DFI NF3 ultra-D board? Are they 3rd party bioses? Thanks
  2. Hi guys, I need your opinion... I want to install a temp sensor for my cpu (athlon 64 3200+ Venice) and i dont know where to stick it to get the best temp reading possible... I'm using a danger den block for my cooling so i dont have alot of place to install it... should i stick the sensor on the back of the mainboard or on the waterblock? Before i use to have an athlon xp so i was sticking it right under the cpu where the pins are... but now the socket 939 is full of pins... I'm a bit confused... Thanks for helping
  3. Yeah i know, but the method didn't work for me, oh well!
  4. That problem depends on your bios version my friend! I have 7/11 and i have to unplug my sata drives to save the setting in the bios.
  5. Here is the case with no PSU: http://www.xoxide.com/nextherm-air-conditioned-no-psu.html
  6. I have the same problem and i'm on bios 7/11...
  7. Hey Mark, There's a bug with the bios 7/11 and SATA hard drives.... you have to unplug your SATA wire from the hard drive before going into the bios and do save and exit... if you dont unplug your hard drive, the system will not boot.... so each time you have to access the bios make sure to unplug your sata hard drive before... i know its a pain in the butt.... but thats the best bios for venice cpu.....
  8. Sorry thats the correct link for the beta bios http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios..._FLAG=B&SITE=NA And i'm not sure if that board is supporting the opteron on the fly.... so if you have another cpu it will be great to install it first and then flash the bios and then install your opteron..... but i'm really not sure
  9. Hi did you read this? http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...&postcount=2913 And for your bios, i'll suggest you to flash your bios with the latest beta one. You can find it here : http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Downlo..._FLAG=B&SITE=NA . It's the 2005/12/19.
  10. Yes it will be ok, but i'll suggest you to flash your bios with the latest beta one. You can find it here : http://us.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bios..._FLAG=B&SITE=NA . It's the 2005/12/19.
  11. Hey, I dont think the temp reading is really good because i'm using a watercooling kit, and before with my Abit Av8 i was getting readings of about 15 degres idle but with this board it read 30 degres but sometimes it flash at 11..... so the temp reading seems no good, but it seems that you are getting some good temp still....
  12. Hey people, I just found my problem, i needed to install the drivers that was coming with the board , i tried the drivers coming from the DFI web site but they are not working, it format and copies the files on a floppy drive but when i'm in the windows setup it says that it doesn't recognise the file format. Does the drivers on the original floppy are the latest one? Anyways, i got tired of uplugging my sata cables everytime i had to go in the bios with the 7/11, so i flashed my board with bios 12/19.... now i dont have to unplug my sata cables. But now when windows is restarting the first time it always giving me an protection fault error.... i went back in the bios and i see that the bios is setting my FSB to 216 everytime! What's up with that? Do i have to go back with bios 7/11. Thanks Carl
  13. Hello people, I have a problem creating a raid array. I'm using 2 WD raptors of around 40 gigs and they are connected in the 3 and 4 sata connectors just under the cpu socket. I'm using bios 7/11, when i'm enterring the bios it detect 1 drive in IDE Channel 4 master and the other in IDE Channel 5 master. In IDE function setup everything is at auto or enabled and in the raid config sata primary and seconday are enabled and sata-2 primary and secondary are enabled. Now I can access to the Nvidia Raid array setup, it detects both of my drives... i'm creating a new array by taking each drive and put them in striping mode. It create an array of 74gb and i set them has boot. Everything seems fine. Now i'm trying to install windows XP SP2, i'm not pressing f6 to add other drivers.... its loading all the drivers and then it ask me where i want to install windows and i'm seeing both of my drives seperated! It says 38178MB Disk 0 at id 0 on bus 0 and same thing for the other! When creating a raid array it is not supposed to create one drive of 74gb!? What i'm i doing wrong!? Please help!  Thanks Carl
  14. So the cpu is around 25-50% load, with what you are saying?
