  1. I'm not sure if the imperfection is too deep or not. The cooler is about 4-5 years old. The imperfection seems to be in the area where I applied the thermal compound on the CPU when I installed it. Here is a picture for reference. At first the area was like a "C" on the bottom of the cooler but I kept sanding it and now I am left with what the picture shows. I'm not sure if i should keep sanding it or not.
  2. My current CPU cooler = Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm Big Typhoon CPU Cooler I bought a bunch of different sand paper grits (200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 1500). I started with the 200 and went up and down on the sand paper for a good while (ever now and then turning it 90 degrees and repeating). Anyway, my problem is that the middle of the cooler doesn't seem to be flat like the rest of the cooler. It is obvious by just looking at it that there is about a penny size spot in the middle that looks completely different then the rest. Should I just keep using the 200 grit until this goes away or is there something I am doing wrong?
  3. The primary use of the PC is for gaming. What is the best 8800GT right now? Can you give me some suggestions if I wanted to upgrade to the 6400+. I have no idea what motherboard would be best for the AM2 and which RAM is good. Thanks.
  4. As the title says, I need some advice on which to choose. I currently have a Opteron 165 (OC @ 2.48GHz for everyday use) and a DFI LP SLI-DR (See sig for other details). I want to get in the 3GHz range for everyday use but the 165 can't break 2.6 without a major boost in vcore. I have a few possibilities to choose from. Please help me make the right/best decision. Options without upgrading my Motherboard (1) Buy an Opty 175 and OC it. (2) Buy a Opty 180 and OC it (3) Buy a Opty 185 and OC it. For these I would need to know the best OC and stepping to be able to get to 3.0 GHz with a reasonable vcore. Options with upgrading my Motherboard and RAM (1) Get an Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (3.2GHz) + ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe + 2GB G SKILL DDR2 800 RAM. For this I need to know what the best motherboard is for AM2 and RAM.
  5. I read that the - AMD Opteron 185 Denmark 2.6GHz is the best chip for the s939 for overclocking. The only other chip as fast is the FX60. Would it be better to purchase the 185 @ $230 or upgrade my ram and motherboard and get a different chip?
  6. Yeah I realized that after I posted it. Any ideas of what the best/fastest s939 is?
  7. Is the MozartTX a LOUD case with all the 120mm fans? I'm looking for something quiest but great cooling?
