  1. Update. After setting the Ras-Cas timming to 2, i can boot using two sticks of ram in the yellow slots but cannot get to windows as it tells me a file is corrupt or missing and i need to repair it using the windows disk. I do this but the system crashes everytime. I have tried upping the ram voltage to 2.9v. If i put the RAM in the orange slots its the same as before.
  2. Ok, do you want me to run memtest all the way through or just note the timings? I will have a go at stayin awake
  3. Right I have now updated to bios 623-3 and I still have the same problem.
  4. With this cd thing i can update my bios with a flash drive right? Sorry its 1.37 AM here and i have very little to hand.
  5. Its RAM in either slot, yellow or red, which will cause two LEDS after CMOS reset but any other boot after CMOS reset it will give me 3 LEDS. Hope i can update BIOS with a USB flash drive cause i have no floppy drive until tomorrow at least.
  6. Wow quick replies. The two Leds only comes on after I reset the cmos, otherwise it is the 3, i did wander about that myself but it is usually the 3 leds (just like when i tried booting up this time with ram in slots 2 and 4). The video card is definately seated correctly, it runs fine with ram in slots 1 and 2. I need a hand as to how to find which bios im running as this is my fist dfi (and A64) system and im not sure how to find this. I shall sort my signature now... Thanks.
  7. I have a nf4 ultra D, opteron 144 and 1 gig (2x512mb) of ocz platinum rev 2. I am unable to run any memory in dimm slots 3 and 4, regardless off whether I have any in 1 or 2. I have tried running memory in slots 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 2 and 3 and 2 and 4 but none of them work. I am only ble to run the two sticks in slots 1 and 2. I have tried upping the voltage to 2.8volts, running timings of 2-3-2-5 (spd timings of 2-2-2-5). On boot up, when using any slots other than 1 and 2, 3 or the red diagnostic lights will stay on and i will get one beep with a pause then the same beep again. Both sticks work on their own in slots 1 or 2 but do not work in 3 or 4 (i think this is expected). On first boot after resetting the bios with ram in slots 2 and 4 (orange slots) the system will hang with two red led's and no beeps. Does anyone have any ideas what is goin on? It just doesnt seem to like slots 3 and 4, and running my memory in dual channel would be nice.
