  1. b-b: If you hate DFI so much the door is that way ---> use it and try not to let it hit you in the butt on the way out. AthlonAlien: I think I know the menu your talking to but can't for the life of me remember how I got into it. I think it was only when my computer had a floppy in the floppy drive, but I forgot to set the boot order to boot my floppy first. I think it came up with a "hit [whateverkey] to enter boot menu". I honestly don’t remember but I’m almost 100% sure I've seen what you're talking about.
  2. What BIOS version are you using? I had a problem a lot like that and it was fixed by a bios update. You need to be using at least 510 bios. Take a look here and see if this looks like whats going on with you. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16157
  3. Glad to help Sorry I dont know where to get that BIOS Version but at least the computer is working!
  4. Its under the bios, go to the genie (I forget what its called exactly but its on the top right side ) -> then to the first thing on the list that comes up and that should be your ram settings. after that you should see something like CPC or command per clock or something and either enable/disable/ or auto. Enable is 2t and disable is 1t (I think  ). *Sorry Im not that familiar with the bios, I just look at it whenI need to or something isn't working right  *
  5. No, I had been hearing there were driver issues with some hardware and it wouldn't support some games so Im going to hold off on it. Let me know how it runs for you once you get your rig going.
  6. are you using XP-64bit for your OS? I dont think it'll be a problem I was just curious.
  7. When I was using only 310 bios I was only able to run either one stick of RAM at a time in the orange slot closest to the top of the mobo, OR I could run in single channel but dual channel would not work at all. It would get to the XP loading screen then it wold lock up to a black screen and just sit and do nothing. (remember to go into your bios and load optimised defaults before you try to flash.) Hope this works for you!
  8. yes. flash your bios to 510-2 I had a problem a lot like this and that fixed it. also once you flash your bios I would do a freash re-install of windows after you've tested your memory with memtest for a while and it looks like its not giving any errors. I'll edit this with a link to the bios and a guide on how to do it once I remember where it is. ok the link
  9. I had to update to 510-2 because I have A SD cpu. AG posted that you need atleast BIOS 510 to support San Diego cpus. I have had no problems at all with this BIOS so far.
  10. Ah, I think I spoted one possible cause. Update to the 510 Bios, you need it to run your 4000+ San Diego. I had a problem like yours at first too. also go into the user cp up in the top left and put all your specs in your signature. You may need to go check your email and activate your account to be able to edit your sig.
  11. 1. please put your system specs in your signature like mine 2. What Bios version are you useing? 3. are you using the orange slots on your mobo for your RAM? and 4. Welcome to the forums!
  12. I used a dremmel to cut my fan to get it to fit, no big deal.
  13. You can find the 510-2 BIOS HERE along with quite a few others. I used the 510-2FIX It also has a good bios flashing guide at the bottom that helped me a lot through doing my first flash to 510-2. (I did it at about 5am this morning  )
  14. What version of the bios are you using?
  15. Update your bios to 5/10-2 for San Diego Support. I just fixed my problem by doing this perhaps it will fix yours.
