  1. I think I've found out what the issue is here..........I'm not smart enough!
  2. well my aim is to get better performnce in game really. Plus the fact I have a full 1/3 water cooled rig at stock speeds. So I should have it faster than stock really. Thanks
  3. Just been on the Corsair forum about my RAM not posting at 2.8 volts. It seems that my PSU might not be enough to cope? What do you guys think? If thats the case I could get my CPU right upto 2.7gig, but with my RAM at 1/1 I have no chance passed 2.5gig.
  4. btw although my rig is pretty good & water cooled. I'm quite a noob to this. So thanks for your help & keeping it simple. I'm an EMECH engineer & i go blind reading some of the stuff on this forum! I've got my CPU up to 220 FSB x 12 so far. I'm going to keep working on that tonight. Any ideas why my RAM doesn't like anything above 2.7v Any suggestions on what timing I should go for. I did find some on this forum, but the thread was based on just getting the RAM to work period. Thanks again.
  5. Thanks for that. I thought I could have my newcastle right up to 1.75 on water without any problems? I've just tested it again with the HTT multi at 2.5 & the ram deivder set at 100. it passed OCCT with an issue at 217 x 12 = 2.6. But now I'm confused for 2 reasons. Why would the RAM be an issue. I thought TCCD chips corsair 3200XL where ideal for overclocking even with tight timings at these FSB. I'm also confused by MBM & CPU-Z. MBM reads my CPU clock at 2.6gig & CPU-Z reads it at (sometimes at 2.4gig) but not always. Has this anything to do with the HTT being at 2.5?
  6. What now? I seem to have hit a wall quite early on, with a max FSB of 208 x 12. So I'm sure there's something I've done wrong. Temps seem fine on load with CPU, PWMIC & Chipset at sub 40c (all on water) I also can't boot with my memory above 2.7 volts which seems odd. I have the 704-2BTA bios Ram settings at 2225 T1 CPU at 1.695 volts All other setting such as LDT & HTT are as per guide. What do you advise? Thanks
  7. Thanks guys, been very helpful. Think I will go for an 80mm fan & try & use a glue gun or hang it like described.
  8. ok will do. Could you show me a picture of how you fitted the additional fan. I ask becasue the top part of my case has been modified to fit the rad. Fancied fitting an 120mm fan, over the PWMIC & ram, but I think that's way to big. Will opt for a UV 80mm I think.
  9. This is good thanks. My thermochill 120.2 rad is sat at the top of the case with the blow holes taking the air out. This is sucking the air through the rad & then out. So I have 2 x 120mm at the top & then the other lower 2 x 120mm fans sucking in. Moving that around won't happen till I need a water change. I've looked at the CM cross flow & think this may help too. It's not a bad price at £22 Think my 1st setp will be to fit a fan directy above the area & see what happens. The added bonus is that I will get abit of active cooling on my RAM. I may even get another 120mm fan & stick it there. I can hear my casae from the top of my street, so one more fan ain't going to make too much diff.
  10. On load I'm getting in excess of 64c when trying to increase my overclock. Could this cause a lock up whilst in game. All other basic tests are ok. Problem stops when I reduce the speed. I'm looking for an easy to fit solution that looks good. Case model is below in sig Thanks
  11. Could someone confirm the answer to Timko's question please, as already weve been told 2 different things on 1 thread. Mine hitting 65c on load, which has been pointed out as too high. Again like others I have water cooling, so less airflow.
  12. oh wow really. I had no idea that was to hot for mosfets. Thats what I assume they are anyhow. Whats the best way to keep these cool? P.s at idle they are at 48c
  13. I am having issues now not in test or benching, but when I play a certain game (eve online). If i reduce the fsb the problem goes away. Only in this game & no where else.
  14. After reading sme more last night & running a few more tests 2641 x 12 CPU @ 1.65volts 220 FSB at 2-2-2-5 @ 2.7volts HTT set on auto at 880 PCI-E is locked at 100 So taking into consideration what I have read. This is better than what I had done above. I'm still seeing people with considerbly better results than me. Although they are using venice cores. I have tried taking each component up to it's max, seperate from the other bits. Any suggestions?
  15. I'm wondering how much I should expect from my rig & have I already matched it's limit? My system is stable at the below ( I define stable as being able to us my pc for everything I want without it locking up.) 2.6gig x 11 CPU @ 1.7volts 236 FSB at 2-3-3-8 @ 2.7volts HTT set on auto at 948 PCI-E is locked at 100 I have all the lastest driver & bios. System hardware in the sig below & both the CPU & GPU are water cooled. I've read through alot of forum threads here & elsewhere. To be honest it's quite overweelming scanning through so much information & you never know what's 'for real' & whats not. GPU max is 46 CPU max is 40 PWMIC max is 63
