  1. Thanks much for the suggestions guys! I ended up using one of my 512 sticks in dimm 2 to install the OS. Luckily, it didn't blue screen on me and I finally got a good install. I updated the bios (3/10) and altered the voltages a little bit and I think it did the trick! It boots to a desktop now, so that's a hell of an improvement! Thanks again for the help!
  2. Okay, I'm trying to install Windows XP Pro on a Raid 0 array on my new system. Throughout random parts of the install, I will get the blue STOP: error screen. It's happened every time so far. Sometimes it happens before I get the partition option, sometimes it happens during the installation of Windows on the partition. Could it maybe have something to do with the floppy my Raid drivers are on? Am I just plain doing something wrong? Also, when I get to the point where I'm copying files off of the Windows CD, it will get to files that it claims it cannot copy to the drive. Sometimes, when I retry, they copy. Other times, they will not copy and I have to skip them. (Note that I haven't made it through 100% of the files because I've blue-screened every time it's busy copying.) Thanks for any help you can give because I'm getting rather frustrated here.
  3. OMG! Thanks! I had swapped the RAM in slots 1 and 3 (put each one in both slots), but I hadn't tried putting either in slots 2 and 4 (let alone both of them). I popped the RAM into slots 2 and 4, BAM! All diagnostic LEDs go off, post beep, and the monitor comes to life. Let's hope it keeps working! Thanks for the help!
  4. Hello all. Please bare with me as this is the first system I've ever built myself. I'll try to provide you with as much information as possible and answer any questions you've got after I explain my problem. Relevant Specs: DFI Lan Party UT nF4 Ultra-D XFX nVidia GeForce 6800 GT (PCI-Express) Antec True550 Power Supply (550 watt with a 20 to 24-pin adapter) AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Socket 939) 2 x 512mb Corsair XMS PC3200 2 x 80gb Seagate Barracudas (Raid 0 once the system works) My problem is this: I put all the components into the case and hooked everything up. I'm pretty sure everything is connected as it should be. I booted up and 2 of the motherboard diagnostic LEDs stayed on. It wouldn't boot to the BIOS and the monitor I'm using stayed off like it was receiving no signal from the video card. So I unplugged all the devices (CD-Rom drives, hard drives, floppy drive) and left only the video card, RAM, and fans connected to the motherboard. The 2 diagnostic LEDs stayed lit (meaning no VGA detected). So I concluded that the video card must be the problem. I've already RMA'ed the video card, but I thought I'd come here and ask you guys if you thought something else could be the cause of the problem. Because, if the new replacement card gives the same result, I'm right back where I started. Again, any questions you have about any other specs, etc. I'll surely answer. I'm just at a loss for what the cause of this problem could be besides a defective video card. Many thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.
