Hey guys. I have this board (LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS) and wanted to replace the heatsink on the northbridge (IP35). I use a Tuniq tower and just need something relatively low profile (i'll try and get measurements from board to bottom on tuniq tomorrow) that will help me with my temps. I'm hoping I can push this cpu to at least 3.4 sometime. I haven't touched my CPU voltage yet though... So what is it fellas...unless I can get away with 50-56c NB temps (what's dangerous ?) should I invest in cooler? Edit: Also, should I make another, seperate post about whether I should buy some Noctua fans to put into my case?

Edit: Didn't want to hijack thread. -
After reading the post over 10 times I still don't see where it was mentioned..sorry but sometimes I don't catch details very well. Anyway thansk for answer.

About the OCZ PSU, is it the GSX or SXS.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if he is running a new proc and a stock cooler, what are the realistic chances that they would be off enough to produce that outrageous temperature (if it truly is 82 C ). Edit: Strange ^^^^

I'm running the same build and I thought the max the cpu would accept is 75. In fact unless you've changed something the mobo should be restarting at that temperature. Mine idling is 12-13 C, which is around 60F. Also When I used my AC5 I applied a dot, then spread evenly over the processor using a flat razor blade. I seriously doubt you are that hot, either the bios is so very wrong, it isn't reading in Celsius or I have no idea.

You are so right! I have neglected those little cables far too long. I was actually going to buy some UV tubing for them hehe... I have access to UV paint as well..hmm... I want to run SATA-0+1 but I've got to get the drives first. Thanks for the positive comments! -

Yeah I did the normal remove and replace operation. I had to clear out alot of junk on my hard drives because all my upgrade options only had one IDE controller, I suppose it's time to get some Sata drives in here... Anyway yeah, I had to mod the H plate on the Tuniq to get it to fit, then switch the fan air blow to go in tandem with my 120 rear exhaust fan. I've already bumped it up to 3.0 and plan on going more! I've loved LP boards for that glow...so pretty! -

I had a DFI board with my current set up, i switched to an abit board when i broke the memory controller arms on the DFI...I loved how much you could push the DFI boards and the sheer amount of bios options. Not to mention they look rad with UV cathodes. I just didn't know if there was any glaring issues with either board. -
Sorry for the rush but I was able to acquire a q6600 , tuniq tower, and 3 gigs of pc5300. Anyway I've narrowed my choices down to these two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813136043 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813127030 I know the abit board is really nice, but I can't seem to find any reviews for the dfi board....

Thx! After I get down with the case work and airbrushing I should be installing these in there somewhere.

I'm taking a older case of mine (recently went to the Sonata2) and spiffing it up for my brother's birthday. Once I'm done with all the airbrushing and paintwork I was hoping to add a little light to it. It's going to need to be blue and I've seen Blue cathodes for sell on NewEgg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16800888026 Now looking at that (considering I've never seen one in my life) they hook up using regular molex connections. What is that small box for? How are they mounted? Is there a link to anywhere I can get a nice extensive look at how they are applied in current cases or does anyone here have a more simple way for me to look at it.

Pretty mind blown here. Help please?

Well the only way I was able to do it was to set my bios to DDR 200, guess that is what I was supposed to do? -

Well think about it. Initially I was running really crappy memory. Different sizes and speeds. Now I'm running identical speed DDR 400 and can't do any FSB adjustments AT ALL. NOT EVEN 1 UP. WTF?
