  2. hello everybody. i recently moved into a new home with my wife and we decided to have both of our pc's grouped in the same room. I have bellsouth fastaccess DSL and I wanted to share my connection with her so that she wouldn't need to use dial-up (not to mention paying the extra $ to do so). well, I recently purchased a linksys (model #BEFSR41) router and I hope that this will accomplish what i'd like it to do, however, I've never done this before and i needed a step-by-step walk-through from anyone who would be so kind. let me mention that I plan on hooking my xbox/playstation to this router so that I wouldn't have to switch CAT5 cables everytime i wanted to play, but obviously i won't be using the internet at the same time i'm playing (due to performance issues). my computer runs on windows xp media center edition her computer runs on windows 2000 could this be accomplished? thanks in advance.
  3. i have a Epox 8kta3 Motherboard, it uses non-ecc memory, but will it accept ecc memory? i have read on some pages that it will, just wont use all the ram.
  4. so uhm...I found 2 possible sets that I like, an amd set up, and an intel set up. the Intel one of course being more expensive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103191 with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131593 or the http://www.newegg.com/product/Produc...82E16819115028 with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136035 and the ram i picked i think is compatible with both sets. so...the catch on the amd is only 1mb per core, and the Intel is 2mb per core, but the amd is 3.2 ghz where as the Intel is only 3.0 ghz...so which way do I go? and while I'm on the topic of upgrading is till dont fully unstand if i could put say a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150173 320 mb 8800 gts sli'd with a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150215 640 mb 8800 gts or would they both have to match?

    PC game lag

I have a Windows Vista home premium computer with an NIVIDA 8500GT graphics card with 256MB, an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 each core operates at 2.4 GHz, 2 x 4 MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB. I have a 500 GB SATA II hard drive. Dual channel 2048 MB DDR2 memory, Memory Card Reader 15-in-1. I have a 32-bit operating system and 2030 MB of rams. My problem is, however, that I have constant game lag while playing all next gen gaming titles (offline). Games such as Bioshock, Jericho, Call of Duty 4, ect. I am not able to play these games on the highest graphic settings without lag, (sometimes not even fair graphic settings). I don't understand why.
  6. So I had recently sent back 2 7900'GS cards because they were causing massive artifacting all across the screen. My third one came in the mail today and has massive yellow and red artifacting (YAY A NEW COLOR). Now when I turn the resolution down there is very little artifacting, but the entire screen is mostly red and I can barely read what I'm typing. This still seems like a video card problem....right? I just think this is ridiculous that I have to RMA this many times
  7. Hey guys, I just went out to the flea market and found an old school Nintendo. I scooped it up and took it home, hooked it up....and it worked!!! It brought back some memories, so it got me thinking....what is the best Nintendo Game of all time?? I couldn't narrow it down to just one, so heres my top 3: 1) Mike Tyson's Punchout 2) Contra 3) Ice Hockey
  8. is there any save way to remove a heatsink glued on with Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive without breaking anything ?
