  1. I just figured it out. My mobo does not support that high of a cpu. I'll have to get a AMD Athlon x2 5200+ God I am an idiot. Thanks for the help though!
  2. I am building a new pc so first, here are the specs: MSI K9N4 SLI-F AM2 NVIDIA nForce 500 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard HIS Hightech H260XTFZ512DDN-R Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz Socket AM2 Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RP-650-PCAR ATX from factor 12V V2.01 650W Power Supply - Retail On first build: Got no post beep whatsoever. No Video signal either. Zalman cooler fan on its heatsink spins up and lights up. All fans are going including the one on the graphics card. Thought it could have been the mobo, memory, or processor so i just rma'd them and got replacements. On second build: the same thing happens. So I bench it to make sure nothing is getting shorted. I take out the memory to see if that was the problem. Nothing. I take out the vid card. Nothing. I even take out the cpu. And still no post beep at all. I thought it might be the PSU so I checked with a DMM and the voltages seemed all fine. Could the damn buzzer on the case be messed up? I am at a loss here. Should I try another power supply? Please help!!!!!!
  3. dang, I need a CD drive sometime soon. I might just go out and buy and 80 dollar external drive till I can get them to fix the dang laptop.
  4. I tryed contacting them but my serial number on the bottom of the laptop has gotten rubbed off from using it so much so they could not help me. I don't think the drive is removable. I wish I could just replace it but I have never done any work on a laptop.
  5. I own a Toshiba Sattelite A75 206. It is not recognizing my dang DVD drive in windows or in bios. But, the drive still works fine ( i.e. it will open and the activity lite still blinks). Any ideas?
  6. no, but i disconnected it reconnected it, turned it off etc. The Vid Card is not overclocked. The interesting thing is, I can still here sounds and things when the lines appear. e.g. when i press the power button and it starts shutting down, i can still here the windows sound. Ive been running it for about 2 months and it just starting doing this. Any thoughts?
  7. I have an ATI Radeon x800 pro and its been fine now all of the sudden after a little bit of the comp being on, vertical colored lines appear across the screen and I cant see a think. I have been checking my core temps and they usually idle around 38 C but it still shows the colored lines every now and then, when im playing a game, or even when the computer is just idling. Any ideas? Thanks.
  8. i reset the vid card twice and even tryed a different vid card but no luck
  9. 480w but even after i took the dang fan card out I still got the same .
  10. I bought a "fan card" to help cool down my vid card. So, I installed it in the pci slot right below the vid card, hooked it up and booted up. Everything was going fine untill it got to windows then the system restarted and no video came up and I got a long beep code then it stopped then repeated it self and this will just go on an on. So, i took out the fan card as well as the vid card and put in a new vid card. Boot up, and no video and the same beep. Reset CMOS, same thing. checked jumpers, connections, EVERYTHINg and I still get the same .. Can anyone help?
  11. I have a ATI radeon x800 pro 256mb that occasionally locks up. Checked the core temps on Idle and I'm getting around 38-39 degrees. havent even checked it after a game yet. Is this too hot? What better cooling solution should I get if possible. (besides water cooling) thanks.
  12. well, i have a new radeon x800 pro video card. But on some games (notably far cry and CS source) I can see through my guys weapon as well as sometimes seeing through walls and other things. Anybody got any ideas?
  13. I have a new soltek motherboard and amd athlon 64 3400+ processor and I installed everything correctly. When I get to windows after a few seconds the system reboots and it does this every single dang time. I have reinstalled windows twice but it still does it. Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong? thanks.
