Your power supply does not meet the minimum standard and you have not stated if you have all four power connections on the motherboard made up. You can use my sig as a guide while building your sig. merc Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 per DFI information contained on the 24 pin connector on the MB. A 350watt or 400 watt power supply will satisfy most system's power needs. Since the Ultra-D is NOT a true SLI board, the PS above will meets requirements. I also confirmed this with DFI tech support today. The MB is toast. red930 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Exactly what part of the PSU link I provided did you not understand? "we highly recommend using a minimum 480 Watt power supply unit." DFI tech will not "confirm" anything less than a recommended power supply. per DFI information contained on the 24 pin connector on the MB. merc Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 I read that and understood your qouted line. I also read the documentation ON THE MOTHERBOARD and I talked, in person, with a DFI rep today. A 480W PSU is a bare minimum for maybe running two graphics cards in SLI form. Regardless of who's right/wrong. Even with a 430W PSU, the system would not post with a bare bones config. (IE no HD, no roms, no other pci hardware installed)
red930 Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 merc, Specifications are subject to change without notice. Trust me when I say this. While there have been several instances where forum members have been able to boot and run solid with power supplies that don't meet the minimum recommendation, there have been countless members that got the right power supply and booted right up or resolved stability problems. The symptoms you are seeing are identical to those seen by forum members with out of spec power supplies. Regardless of what the DFI tech said or you read on the sticker or in the documentation, the minimum recommended PSU is an ATX 12V 2.X power supply with 480W.
