GodlyManDude540 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Would it be possible to put this My link between my CPU and my H70? and if so do you think it would help?
Savan Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Would it be possible to put this My link between my CPU and my H70? and if so do you think it would help? it would likely need some custom mounting brackets, and you would probably want to use one of the higher watt pelts, like the 172 or the 226. Also, you would have to fully insulate the board and socket which is quite a hassle, and even then, Im not sure the H70 would be capable of handling the extra heat load. You would want to go with a more robust WC system. So it is possible, but not really practical

Waco Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Peltiers are almost always a bad idea from what I've heard in the past 10 years.

GodlyManDude540 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Sounds Fantastic lol So what does the Cooler Master V10 use? It says it has some sort of device that at a certain temp it starts up and helps cool and in some review I read that it uses a peltier unit. Is that true? Psywar Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 TEC's are not really used anymore: They have always been quite a hassle to setup and you end up spending more money in the long run. I guess I would say the Cost does not out weight the benefits of it. Stick with just buying a Monster Heatsink/Fan combo and call it a day! Waco Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 They have always been quite a hassle to setup and you end up spending more money in the long run. I guess I would say the Cost does not out weight the benefits of it This. Peltiers suck a HUGE amount of power 24/7 to run in addition to whatever cooling setup you use to cool the peltier itself. On top of that they tend to burn up when they fail - taking your components out with them.
