Need Help Overclocking A Core I5 650 System.

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

As you can see I am new to the overclocking game. Basically I built a "budget" system for under $1000. I now want to push it beyond manufacturer specifications to preform better.

This is the setup.

Intel Core i5 650 LGA1156

Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H

4Gb Dual DDR3 1600Mhz KHX1600C8D3K2

1Tb WD "Green"

Gigabyte ATI HD 5770 1GB

Antec Nine Hundred TWO Tower

Noctua NH-U12P-SE

Basically what I want to achieve is.... 4Ghz / 2000mhz stable. Can someone give me a quick low down on how the best way would be to do this. Just raise voltage?

Is the GFX card easy for overclocking... ? I know back in the day I had a HIS X1800GT which was easily unlocked by changing firmware to XTX version... Any similar tricks these days or just overclocking?

Thanks in advance guys

Regards,

Kice
