Hey guys,

My first post here so all help and tips are appreciated.

Just bought a new PC and was looking for advice on overclocking. Is my rig ok to overclock the Processor? And how can this be done?

PC Specs:

AMD Athlon X4 620 CPU

Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 Motherboard

4GB DDR2 800MHz (2x2GB)

Sapphire 1024MB ATI HD4870

550W PSU

Gigabyte GH-PSU11-PD X-Power CPU Cooler

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Thanks

Thanks for the links.

Read through a few articles and thats why i posted. Don't know if the motherboard is compatible or if the cpu fan could take the strain.

I have never seen anything in regards to that CPU fan -

When I was recently looking at a amd 620 build these were the fans recommended:

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2

Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler

XIGMATEK Intel Core i7 compatible Dark Knight

and I also read here - http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm

You would have to try to find other posts in regards to your MB and OC it.

You can try it just watch your temps. If you see temps getting to high bring the speed, etc down a little.

That was the plan anyway.

Haven't stress tested it yet so not sure how cool it will stay under 100% load but the fan seems to work grand under normal conditions.
