rourkchris Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) I have the majority of my parts for a new build. Need some suggestions for a good cooler. I've been thinking about a TRUE 120 with a push/pull configuration. I have one already on a Q6600 and really like it. I'll be using an Asus M4A79 Deluxe motherboard and 8GB Mushkin DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15 RAM and a Phenom II 940. 2 1TB WD Black HDDs and an old 3870 512MB DDR4 video card(temporary), LG Blu-Ray DVD drive, PC Power and Cooling 750 watt PSU, Windows Vista Premium 64. This will serve as an HTPC(a bit of overkill) and a 24/7 DC cruncher. The case is an nMEDIAPC 200B HTPC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811204032 Due to the DC crunching I'd like as high a clock speed as possible with good temps. I've looked at a Sunbeam core-contact freezer, TRUE 120 black, Xigmatec S1283, CoolerMaster V8, and a Noctua NH-U12P. Noise isn't really an issue as I plan to change out any stock fans with Scythe 120mm SY1225SL12SH 110CFM fans. TheScavenger Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I have first hand experience with the TRUE and S1283. Both are excellent coolers but the TRUE is just a little more excellent.
