FEEDTHEADDICTION Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 What is the SPD tab exactly? It seems like a bunch of suggested settings for the ram i have installed (completely different from what they are supposed to be). Are these settings the optimal settings? Should I use those settings instead of the ones in the memory tab? Please unlose me!!!
Waco Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Those timings are usually fail safes so that the board will boot regardless of the memory speed.
FEEDTHEADDICTION Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Would you recommend against those pre-suggested settings? And if that is so... why is the rightmost column in SPD higher than stock?
battery Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 those are the manufacturer's settings for those frequencies. the right is higher than stock because its cheaper to sell fast chips at slow speeds then to manufacture fast and slow chips.
