stever Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hello Guys, I just joined this site because I figured this was the place I needed to be....I wanted to do a modest overclock on a system I just built....I have a pretty good knowledge of pc's but this will be my first OC..! I have an Asus Rampage Formula mobo, Intel Qx6700 CPU, (2x 2gb of OCZ SLI certified Ram, I will be replacing asap), and an Ultra Chill TEC for cooling...Also have plenty o'fans in my Thermaltake Eureka case...Also have a Ultra 1000w PSU, soon to be replaced by Silverston OP1200w psu...Pc is up and running and good to go.... I've seen with 780I mobo's that is as easy as stepping up the FSB to acieve higher clocks with CPU's but the Extreme Tweaker on this Asus board has me intimidated a little. Could someone provide me with some first steps to take....I think I should be able to achieve 3.2 ghz with this processor, maybe more, but I'd just like to start with the first steps to doing this.... Any knowledge someone would like to share with me would be greately appreciated....I know colletively you guys have forgotten more about OC'n then I'll ever know, but if you could take pity on someone who wants to learn, you certainly have my attention....
