koldbrann Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 ok i have a special question would be great if someone could check this. The mobo got 2 network cards onboard 1 Nforce 1 Marvel In bios theres only the options Onboard Lan controller and nvidia mac lan Can anyone please test if the marvel card is disabled by the "onboard lan controller" setting and if the nvidia one stays available/online. If both are disabled by that switch it would suck hard. Thanks in advance.
Sharp Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Hello, I do not have the board but nvida mac lan = nvidia lan only. So I would assume that onboard lan = Marvell only.
koldbrann Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Yeah thanks it is like that but had to build up a system 1st to find out. The onboard cards are both xxxxed up and unuseable. Nvidia got a bad MAC adress inbuilt and the Marvel just hangs every now and then. Had to add a realtek cheap butt card which works like a charm under linux. All hails to MSI for their supreme China crap. Will never get some MSI board again as 2 other models i got have various annoying probolems too. Sharp Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 You should be able to re enter the MAC address in the BIOS for the nvidia one. If you have an old network card try that mac address.
koldbrann Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Nope you can not. Theres only "auto" or "off" setting. This problem seems common with nvidia. For example i found a bios patcher from Asus to fix this issue. But it is only for their Boards of course
