ShRoOmAlIsTiC Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I just got a cfx3200 and cant get windows to install on my single 36gb raptor while using the sil3114 sata controller. Is there a something in bios I need to do in order to get it to pick up the drive on install?
Poisonsnak Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 What mode do you have the controller set for in the BIOS? If it's one of the RAID modes all you need to do is attach a floppy drive to your PC, push F6 when prompted during windows setup (right at the start), and it will load the SiI 3114 RAID driver from the floppy (it doesn't load it until later on though F6 just gives it a heads up sort of). If you are using it in "SATA" mode like me the driver on the disk unfortunately does not support this mode so you need to make your own disk. Go find a working PC with a floppy drive, go here: http://www.siliconimage.com/support/suppor...&ctid=2&osid=4& and download the top zip file, "SiI3114 32-bit Windows BASE Driver". Unzip the contents onto a floppy and use it as I described above.
