Guest erico Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot. There is one thing I'm not clear on, that I've seen repeated use of....the whole "2.5-3-3-11 13-15" & "E-D-F-E....". I know that makes me sound, bad to say the least, but I just need to understand what that means. Could you please clarify that for me? OK... time for you to do a litle reading in the overclocking thread here in the forum...the numbers are Cas- 2.5 tRCD- 3 tRP- 3 tRAS- 11 The settings below are not for your MOBO. I put them there so you can see what they look like in the BIOS. This set is for a s939 MOBO your socket A will be a bit different but the terms are the same. Genie BIOS Settings: FSB Bus Frequency - 250 LDT/FSB Frequency Ration - Auto CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - Auto PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz CPU VID StartUp Value - StartUp CPU VID Control - 1.450v CPU VID Special Control - Avove VID * 110% LDT Voltage Control - 1.20v Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.50v DRAM Voltage Control - 3.40v DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set - 200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01) Command Per Clock (CPC) - CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - Min RAS# active time (Tras) - Row precharge time (Trp) - Row Cycle time (Trc) - Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - Row to Row delay (Trrd) - Write recovery time (Twr) - Write to Read delay (Twtr) - Read to Write delay (Trwt) - Refresh Period (Tref) - 4708 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - DRAM Bank Interleave - DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 8 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 4 Max Async Latency - Auto Read Preamble Time - Auto IdleCycle Limit - Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(8 Bursts) what these are is the basic and secondary memory timings set in the BIOS for more details you will have to do some reading here at Adrian Rojacks BIOS Information site like the rest of us... like ExRoadie says..If it ain't rocket science...why aren't you doing it yourself? That is a direct quote and hopefully not mis-paraphrased. Good luck and keep us posted!!
DreamerGamer Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 OK... time for you to do a what these are is the basic and secondary memory timings set in the BIOS for more details you will have to do some reading here at Adrian Rojacks BIOS Information site like the rest of us... like ExRoadie says..If it ain't rocket science...why aren't you doing it yourself? That is a direct quote and hopefully not mis-paraphrased. Good luck and keep us posted!! Ok, problem solved. It turns out that my Crucial ram has a CL of 3. I have been browsing this forum, and saw that DFI boards (maybe just this one, dunno) do NOT like a CL of 3. I have some pc2100 (CL 2.5 @ 133 MHz & CL 2 @ 100 MHz). It's a gig total and it works FLAWLESS. My newest question is: Do ALL DFI boards have a problem with ram that has a CL of 3 or is it just the LanParty NFII Ultra B? If you haven't heard of that problem, no need in responding (not meaning to be rude). I've seen it throughout this forum time and time again, but I THINK it's just with my board. Please advise.
