Bosco Posted July 11, 2002 Posted July 11, 2002 I never played the sims, I guess because it wasnt online I hardly play any game that isn't multiplayer. anyway.. I was reading up on The Sims Online. It looks like something I would like.. maybe you would like it too? Think about it, a large virtual world where you can be anyone you want to be. Do you want to run a casino? Will you set the slot machine odds in your favor or the player's? Determine what sets you apart from the casino next door. What about an architect and make money for your creativity? You could build luxurious properties and then sell them to other players at a markup price. d3bruts1d Posted July 12, 2002 Posted July 12, 2002 You do realize that it's a "pay-to-play" game, don't ya?
Bosco Posted July 12, 2002 Posted July 12, 2002 ?!?! how much?
d3bruts1d Posted July 12, 2002 Posted July 12, 2002 They haven't set a price yet... but it'll probably be between $10 - $15 a month... So, ya get to pay $50 for the game, and then the monthly fee. So your looking at $120 - $180 after playing for a year... It's trying to compete with the other "Massively Multiplayer Online Games." Some of the others are: Everquest Dark Age of Camelot Ultima Online Asheron's Call World War II: Online Anarchy Online Earth: Above & Beyond Star Wars Galaxies Shadowbane Final Fanticy Online Phantasy Star Online (This one was free...) Same type of game, different target audiance... "give us your money, we'll let you play." Some people don't mind the monthly fee... others have better things to blow $100 bucks on. VolcomPimp Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 this would be sweet if there was a large scale world like that constantly updated w/ features, being able to visit ppl you know's houses which they could build like the sims.. (not refering to this actual game, just saying that would be a neat concept), but my only question would be how would you make a network which would store so many player files and such... I dont think they'd want everything stored on their pc, or else they'd just hack their char's and pretty soon they'd have a virtual Osama Bin Laden who creates his own terrorist network within the game, makes him own an airline and crashes his own 747's into everyones houses... no that wouldnt happen but couldnt you imagine someone so l33t on a game to do some funny stuff like that? (no Im not sayin 9/11 was funny or anything so I dont want ppl flaming me for that... Im just sayin the image of a char like that . ppl off on a game like that would be hilarious...) o ya... I hate pay-2-play games... never played one of them... why? the simple fact you have to pay... I saw my friend play everquest once while he was high, and I acted like I was giving someone head on the game cause I was a midget... it was hilarious.. besides that never played one... which reminds me, I wish I could try that game out... maybe Ill steal one of my friends chars or somethin as a prank for a few days... o well...
