Which leads to connect where - 600GXSSLI??

Recommended Posts

Hey gang,

I received my 600GXSSLI PSU, yesterday. I decided to wait until I was rested to do the build. I am glad that I did. I need help with two of the leads from the PSU to the motherboard.

There are two leads that have 3 HDD type connectors and one FDD type connector on them. One of the FDD type connectors is labled "P7" and the other is labled "P11".

Which one of them connects to the FDD point below the CPU on the board - P7 or P11? They look identical.

Another connector that concerns me is the 12V connector. Unlike the Powerstream 520W, which had a connector labled 12V, the 600GXSSLI has two connectors (one cable) labled CPU 1/CPU 2. Which one connects to the 12V point next to the IDE connectors. I presume that is CPU1, since I have only one CPU, though it is a X2.

I would appreciate you assistance.

See this thread for a detailed how-to with pictures (including all power connectors).

Thanks, OC Newbie,

My personal opinion is that it makes no difference. However, I am concerned that I might overload one of the rails if I connect things incorrectly. I had heard reports of this happening. I don't know if it is "urban legend" or fact, but I don't take chances.

Thanks, David,

I have read that thread numerous times. In fact, I have made copies of it.

I know where the 4 connectors are on the board, I simply want to know which leads I connect to them. This is my second time building my rig. I had to RMA my Powerstream 520W. The leads on the 520W corresponded more closely with my board.
