  1. CPU voltage of 3.8???? I hope you are joking lol....you hardly need to set ur cpu voltage! 1.3volts will be more than enough for all your overclocking unless you have watercooling! If you put ur CPU @ 3.8volts ur lights will dim and ur christmas tree will catch fire omfg lol please tell me you didnt put it at 3.8volts XD
  2. What is you cpu at now? and at what voltage? and your ram? what voltage is that set to? I would, for starters first knock your latency on ur DIMM's back one notch. My cpu is at 4GHZ now and 100%stable. I had to raise the cpu voltage to 1.3Volts and the RAM voltage to 2.0volts. I also had to change the latency of my RAM from 4-4-4-16 to 5-5-5-17 and im running now at 4GHz 25C idle and 45C full load...but i have water cooling Crazy is right tho, you do need to have some sort of idea about what is going on. try to make changes (SMALL changes) and do a stress test after each attempt. Get youself CoreTemp to monitor ur temps. Then get Prime95 and run the test. Make sure that you have CoreTemp running during the test to monitor your temps!!!! they can raise really quickly so make sure you keep you eye on them! let us know how u getting on.
  3. Lol, I cant find my mem multiplyer anywhere... I looked all through BIOS and NOTHING!! i just increase the voltage to my mem and the Coltage to my e8400 and it stable at 4GHz i really want to find this mem multiplyer tho cause the less voltage the better!
  4. 1.4V for your CPU? omg lol isn't that a little high? you must have some wicked cooling lol!
  5. Well I just got mine to 4.07ghz. I have water cooling but like you Timmy94, I too had problems... I noticed that for some reason my RAM voltage was set at 1.6V and my E8400 was at 1.016 sometimes 1.008.. So I Checked on my ram and on the side of the DIMM it says 2.1V so I then changed my RAM voltage to 2.0 in BIOS and set my E8400 to 1.25V. Get a program ( if you haven't already done so) to monitor your tems. once you have the voltages sorted I'm sure you will get ur's at least 3.6GHZ on just air. Mine is now running at 19C wile i'm typing this and my MB temp is at 40C. My RAM is blody hot tho lol! so i will have to get RAM cooler or something cause I want 4.3GHZ or more Let us know how you get on. Rich
  6. LOL u scared the crap out of me when i read ur post! I miss typed it is at 1.25 haha
  7. damn them ASUSholes! oh well its working so im not gonna mess with the mem anymore just that E8400... Im gonna oc the hell out of him! Thanks!
  8. Yeah, I will leave it at 3.62 for now. I will run stress test all night and fiddle some more 2morrow afternoon. I wish there was a program that automatically detected all ur setting and overclocked to the max potential! good thing im studying software engineering maybe there will be 1 in a couple of years! BTW// I have an ASUS P5QC motherboard and they say only install DIMM into the BLACK slots. I have 1 DIMM in each of the black slots and 1 in each of the yellow slots ( because i have dual mem) and there are still 2 ORANGE slots for ddr3! Does it seem that i have done this correctly ? everything is running fine, just ASUS say only install the DDR2 RAM on the BLACK slots... they use bold letters so we dont screw up lol... just they dont mention the yellow slots AT ALL Regards Rich
  9. Thanks for the help guys! I am at 4.62ghz now and will be going as far as i can. I love watercooling cpu idle at 27C @3.62ghz I discovered the problem was my RAM voltage was at 1.6 I set it to 2.0 and i also set my CPU voltage to 2.25. SO FAR SO GOOD! i will let you know what i manage to take it up to Thanks again !
  10. hi, i have watercooling. im not sure what my RAm voltage is so here is what CPU- says : JEDEC#1 & JEDEC#2 voltage is 1.8V and EPP#1 is 2.100V ( this was what i got under the SPD sub-menu). My RAM latency is 5,5,5,18 I also noticed that if i increase the FSB then it auto increases the frequency of my RAM... Is that normal? What should i set my ram voltage to? and how do i set it? in bios? I have VISTA x64 Thanks!
  11. Hi all, I have just got a some new pc parts and would like to overclock. This is what i have: cpu=E8400 hdd= 150gb raptor hdd= 300gb hdd= 150 gb motherboard =asus p5qc ram= 2x 1gb corshair ( X2 ) 4g total gfx card = bgf geforce 8800 gts THERMALTAKE- kandalf LCS case with water cooling. I have changed my FSB from 333 to 345 and it is fine but if i change to 355 and then test using prime 95, it gives error saying rounding @ 0.5 was expecting 0.4... I then tried the FSB back at 345 and upped the voltage to 1.3(was at 1.2) and still gave error.. Does anyone have some tips for me, and what i can expect to get out of this chip? I am a hardcore gamer and want a kick . system Thanks! Rich
