  1. Right. My point was because I tried it with nothing plugged in I know the drive isn't the problem. So specifically, I tried two PSU's with only one connection on each (the 24-pin main connector). Neither showed anything spectacular. I supposed I'll pull my memory and video card to make sure they aren't the issue. I suppose I should see the CPU fan come to life at least then. I should note that the power save LED (the one to the right of the diag LEDs and near the com port.) is blinking rapidly.
  2. I'm running everything stock. It was running fine. I woke up and it shut itself off....
  3. I Just tried it with just the video card, memory, and cpu in the board with the board out of the case (to ensure I wasn't shorting anything). I still got the same response after a cmos clear. I have the jpr7 and jpr5 to Vsb. It was running fine. I would doubt it's my power supply. I've tried two. One I pulled right out of a running system. It had the same effect.
  4. Yes, I followed the procedure to the T. I also took the PSU out of a working system and tried that on the board with the same results. No life at all. I'm going to take the board out of the tray and make sure the board isn't accidentally grounded or anything.
  5. This didn't work. All it did was allow the fan to spin for one revolution when i plugged the power back in, then nothing. Is it better to RMA through DFI or newegg?
  6. Will do. A 20 min one. I wouldn't think the long cmos would let the board power up though.
  7. Ok. I just swapped the power supply with a different one. For a very very brief second the lights on my fan control came on but then, nothing. No life whatsoever. This was with only the memory, cpu, and video connected, nothing else. It looks like the board is broken. Any ideas on what to do? Should I RMA it through newegg? If I do, I'll probably have to say goodbye to DFI and head back to ASUS. They've always worked on the first try for me.
  8. Last night, I started a 20gig copy job from one drive partition to another and then went to bed. This morning when I checked it the computer was powered off and all 3 lights on my keyboard were blinking. Now it will not power on (no life at all, no fans, nothing). The keyboard lights just keep blinking and the power button does nothing. All components in the system are new. It's been up and running stable for about 2 weeks (did memtest and Super Pi for days to validate). Help! Note: I run ALL of my computer equipment off of UPS's, so I don't imagine there were any power surges or brown outs.
  9. Well the config screen does have double speak in it. I believe it says "Raid Enabled" - Disable/Enable.... Or something like that. What is yours set to?
  10. Right, I'm already running like that. The RAID screen still shows up though.
  11. I haven't seen the problem return since I started using the USB to PS2 dongle...
  12. Is there a way to remove the nvidia raid bootup screen if you are not running any RAID setups? I'm annoyed by the extra 3 seconds it takes on bootup ....
  13. I should note that I cannot seem to narrow the problem down to any particular activity. Often it happens when I'm simply sitting on the desktop with no apps running. Suddently the mouse will stop for a second or two and I'll hear the disconnect/reconnect sound. It is very odd. Perhaps I'll try a USB to PS2 converter and see if the problem persists. Anyone else seeing a similar issue?
  14. I'm having trouble with my mouse intermittently stuttering (stopping and not being able to be controlled for a second or so). It's a USB Microsoft intellimouse. I also get the "device unconnected - device reconnected " sounds from the OS (like the default sounds you get when you connect any USB device). The mouse works fine with my old system. I have the Vsb jumpers set on all of my USB ports. Any ideas on what could be causing the stuttering & disconnect/reconnect action? Help please!
