  1. yeah true. But i tried the install CD on a few Pc's and its naff. Managed to get everything off it and onto another CD now anyway. Had to use ISO buster.
  2. i think it may just be that the driver CD that came with my motherboard is faulty. So....... does anyone know where i can get the following software/drivers : drivers: -usb 2.0 driver -realtek audio driver ( do i need this if i am aleady using the Nvidia NMixer software?? - i can hear sound so should i just leave it? I would like the jack sensing though and i think that only comes with the RealTek software) -make nVidia nForce Chipset Driver disk (not sure what this is?) software: -ASUS update -PC probe II PS i have downloaded the nForce Sli Intel drivers and installed them so far - so whether they cover any of the above drivers - well, im not sure. its very annoying that the actual drivers CD doesnt work !!! regards Jonathan
  3. i think i MAY have solved it by disabling UDMA in the BIOS
  4. not sure what CFM means, but the max RPM is 2800
  5. hey, So at the moment i am using the Thermalright XP-90c with a 92mm zalman fan on top to cool my LGA775 P4 3.8GHz processor. Is that adequate enough? I dont really want to spend a fortune on water cooling etc. Is the heatsink and fan i have better than the one Intel ships out as standard with these CPU's?? regards Jonathan
  6. hey guys, Some of you have been helping me out lots recently to get my new system up and running - so before i start id like to thanl EVERYONE who helped so far. Now, i got my system running, but when i try to insert the mobo drivers CD (or any CD actually) the PC acts strange. I wait for the auto-load thing to popup, but it doesnt. I can hear my CD drive struggling to read the disc. So i go to explorer and double click on the cd drive. Then the PC locks up and the only way to eject the disc to get the PC to free up again. I have the latest BIOS version by the way. Now, i went into device manager and looked under nForce Parallel ATA controller. Under the secondary IDE channel tab i can see that my 2 CD-drives are recognised and the box 'Let BIOS select transfer mode' is ticked. The current transfer mode is set to 'Ultra DMA-2 Ultra33'. Could this be the problem - that the transfer mode is set incorrectly? I changed it to PIO but the problem still persits. My 2 cd/dvd RW drives are the Lite On SOHW 1693S and the Lite On SOHW 832S. ANy help would be great as i cant install any drivers or software, or anything!!! :-( regards Jonathan
  7. what is driver cleaner???? i cant even boot into safe mode now
  8. cool thats ok then - i will be using on board sound, but i guess there is not harm updating to the latest drivers. thanks
  9. Hey there I just upgraded from a Gigabyte GA8Ik1100 and an ATI Radeon to an ASUS P5ND2 Deluxe and a Gainward 7800 GTX golden sample. Now, the thing is before i carried out the upgrade i forgot to uninstall things like the ATI drivers. Will this matter when i boot up my new system? Or can i just uninstall the whole ATI drivers package once im in windows before installing any of the new drivers? The thing thats worrying me is what other kind of things wil be left over from the Gigabyte motherboard? I did not install any gigabyte software so thats not the issue - the issue is the hardware and windows drivers the gigabyte motherboard will have installed. I guess i can use device manager to show the non_present devices thingy, and then just remove anyhting thats not in use??? Including all the USB drives, LAN, ethernet, sound, multimedia - basically more or less everything. What about the system devices section - do i just leave that alone? What other things should I NOT touch in device manager? What should i look for to get rid of all gigabyte left overs? Basically i dont want to uninstall windows and start again. So am i just going to have to put up with the left over drivers etc in the Windows system? any help will be great Jonathan
  10. hey guys, I just bought a Gainward 7800GTX golden sample (although its named something else - cant remember what). Anyway i have been HERE to the Nvidia drivers page, but i am unsure of what to download. The best way to explain is to show the hierarchy, like it is on the site. So i have already downloaded this: Graphics driver - Geforce and TNT2 - Windows XP i guess thats the correct and most upto date driver then? BUT....... then i saw all the other things, like Platform / nForce drivers. I have an ASUS P5ND2 deluxe (which has nForce 4 for Intel). So i guess i need to dowload this: Platform / nForce drivers - nForoce 4 Intel - windows xp .........correct? What about nTune, and the nForce audio drivers - do i also need these? Do i need any of the other products ? Thanks a million peeps. Jp
