  1. ok i am probably going to get the Western Digital My Book Live http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136745&Tpk=WDBACG0010HCH-NESN and rip everything to there...plug that in to my router and hopefully i can stream it to my samsung tv!
  2. ok so that mobo/cpu should be able to handle 3d blurays and also rip/burn blurays too rite? also i was just thinking, i already have a samsung smart tv and the only reason i was getting this HTPC was to rip blurays to it so i dont have to keep loading bluray movies each time i want to watch them and also burn some home vids and crap to blurays, so would i just be better off getting a NAS to store all my movies on and use my samsung smart TV to access that NAS, and just buy an external bluray burner for my laptop to rip/burn them?
  3. i am looking at building a small htpc so i decided to go with a mini-itx build, i want to use this just to stream movies from online, and blu-ray discs! what do you think of this setup: Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108396 LG Blu-Ray burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136250 Asrock Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157238 Intel i3 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115094 32GB SSD for OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227510 2TB Samsung HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152245 G.SKILL 8GB RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422 Am i missing anything? would this play 3D blu-rays as well with no lag? Also, if i wanted to get an external large capacity hard drive instead of internal, should i just get an external enclosure and throw this 2TB one in there, or buy an existing external hard drive? what external hard drive connectivity would you recommend for fastest transfer speeds? (bluray movies are pretty big! lol)
  4. hmm i might wait a bit for the next gen processors to see how they stack up. im not in a rush to buy. and yeah, its going to go into a cabinet, so will need some fans to keep it cool. i still remember back in the day with my FX55 overclocked, having a massive thermaltake heatsink on that sucker and 5 case fans hahaha
  5. so the i3 supports 3d correct? like with the intel processor u chose, i can play 3d blu-ray movies?
  6. also i noticed no Blu-Ray drive was added...i prefer one that has burning capabilities too!
  7. i was referencing to Tjj226_Angel's post, he posted this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188096 and i dont see any video output on there..
  8. maybe im missing something, but on the motherboard i dont see any on board video on the intel build
  9. what about video and sound? also, wat about using an AMD build, wouldnt it be cheaper? such as a Llano build?
  10. yeah that would be best...if i can just connect the HDMI to my reciever and it can parse the video/audio together it would ease some headache
  11. cant burn blu-rays on a ps3 lol..and its easier to stream stuff from the net from a htpc than a ps3 in my opinion
  12. 1. ideally i want the case the same size as a A/V reciever 2. yes i will be storing movies as well as using blu-ray disks 3. i was hoping i could get an IR reciever installed in the computer so i can use my logitech remote with it (if i cant its ok, i have a few spare wireless KB/mouses) 4. nope, i have fiber optic cable already 5. i prefer to have the highest audio possible 6. not really, just want it to be plain and black 7. nope, it will not be used for gaming at all...just watching movies, browsing the net, and burning blu-rays.
  13. been out of the loop for awhile, last system i built was when the AMD FX-55 chip was the best haha anyways, i want to build myself a HTPC...i want it to be able to do the following: 1. connect to my samsung smart tv via HDMI 2. play blu-ray in the best quality possible 3. play 3-d movies 4. connect to my home audio system (5.1 surround sound) so the best audio quality possible too (possible thru hdmi?) dont really know how much this will cost, but im trying to stay under $800, cheaper the better but i do not want to sacrifice HD playback quality, 3-d playback quality, and audio playback quality, those are the most important to me. also, if i can control it with my remote that would be badass too.
  14. i would buy from newegg normally, but newegg is prety much the same price as best buy, and i have around $400 in reward zone certificates
