  1. do you have a link for this article I'd like to read it. my own research shows that the second slot does run a little slower than the first slot. I'm running my x800xl in the second slot and I've lost about a hundred or two 3Dmarks. Not significant but still a difference.
  2. mine doesn't look anything like that..... my silencer is pressing on top of the chipset fan and in fact will push the chipset fan to the point of losing contact with the chipset. perhaps the nvidia card is o.k. but my x800xl doesn't work quite like that.
  3. you can pretty much forget about the ati-silencer 5 rev2 using the top pci-e slot. I had to move mine to the second slot, otherwise the card and cooler was pushing on the chipset fan and pretty much blocking it from getting clean air.
  4. soundx98...... thanks bro, your .ini files are dead solid perfect on my NF4 Ultra-D system.
  5. yes, you'll have to use one of the beta atitools (24 or above) to get your XL temps.... then you can set up atitool to send the temps to MBM........
  6. make sure you're using the last version of MBM5
  7. thanks bro.... I'm kinda leaning in that direction of the cpu..... I'm a socket-a person so this 939 stuff is all new to me. I'm hoping someone else has gone through the same thing and will have some advice...... otherwise I'll just have to make the call myself. anyone else?
  8. Yes sir.... everything is connected (all 4 power connectors) and I've tried the mem sticks in the suggested 2 & 4 orange slots as well as the 1 & 3 yellow slots. 1 stick in either 1 or 2 and I can post and boot.... can't run 1 stick in 3 or 4, if I do I get the long beep and pause.
  9. I don't know anything about the 1A4T sticks.... I've never seen that code before.... the AA4T sticks come with the Winbond UTT chips..... Great for overclocking with low latancies if you give them 3.2v or more.
  10. Hello all: I was solicited to join these forums from the people over at my home OCForums. I'm new to DFI so pardon me. O.k. I've managed to get everything going..... only problem (big problem) is getting my system to boot with 2 dimm slots full. Right now I'm running one stick of ram (Kingston HyperX BH-5) in Dimm slot 2 and as soon as I put the other stick in Dimm 4 I get the long beep, long pause, long beep.... only 3 diagnotic lights are lit when I put in the second ram stick. Installed the OS with 1 stick. I've gone through the troubleshooting I know about (clearing cmos DFI-Street method, flashed bios to 3/10, tried my UTT and TCCD sticks) and nothing is solving this. I'm running the memory at 2.8v 2-2-2-6 200MHz.... (started out the ram at relaxed timings and that didn't help either). I haven't overclocked anything yet. I used RGones thread as a foundation to get things started and still the system won't boot with more than 1 stick of ram. I post with 2 sticks in slots #1 and #2 (single channel) but then it hangs after I hit F1. I can't get a stick to run in either dimm #3 or #4 in either single or dual channel. Basically I think either the mb is faulty or the cpu..... help me decide which to rma.
