  1. started from scratch, loaded optimize defaults.... set voltages to "normal" setting, 3.4ghz was max for stock voltage, now testing 3.5ghz with bumped up voltage. prime95 running for more than 1 1/2 hours .......... and realized that this post was in the wrong section... *facepalm*
  2. Ok my ram is at 1066 change all the ram settings back to auto(thought the system could stabilize with its own setttings), ratio 12:8. cpu clock 3.9ghz. every test i ran crashed. i think my brain crashed too. but the thing is when i run any game its very smooth..
  3. well ive been messing around with the multipliers and it still remains at 800mhz(do you mean the cpu FSB? cause i could get that to 1066), and prime95 crashed , man overclocking is really serious business.......... there is one more voltage option which is CPU reference tho its default is 0.805v, ive upped it to 0.868v
  4. but wouldnt that throw off my dram:fsb ratio? its already a perfect 1:1, anyway unfortunately i wont be able to run the test for some reasons at the moment probly in a few hours time, will get back ASAP on the results.....
  5. umm it says on everest altho when i bought the RAM i did specify i wanted to get DDR2-1066, i just completely forgot it was, but in bios however it reads as 800. PLL has only and option of 1.85v and vtt of 1.34/1.36, so well i chose 1.34v and i lowered back my DRAM voltage to 1.8v so far the pc ran fine....
  6. My ram is actually DDR21066, its at 800mhz so im not really making full use of its potential right?
  7. haha ok i see! anyway my settings are: (original - overvoltage) termination 1.2v - 1.3v PLL 1.55v - 1.75v reference 0.805v - 0.868v Vcore 1.418v and the vdroop well.........droops it down to 1.392v one more thing! my bios has an option of DRAM performance enchance, and its set to "turbo" as default, other than that it has "Standard" and "extreme" any opinions on that?
  8. ok yeah just noticed something weird, sometimes my voltage is at 1.392v and sometimes its at 1.376v, is it suppose to fluctuate? besides cpu Vcore, there are termination/PLL/reference voltages(should i up them?) on bios but there isnt any VTT option.... also my DRAM voltage is 2.02v, original was 1.8v.
  9. i just finished my prime95 test, CPU #0 test ended in 4mins saying there was an error: FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4. no problems with CPU #1, what does that mean? im gonna start intel burn test now....
  10. well i did let everest stress for about 4 hours when i was out, it had no problems....
  11. hey guys just wanna let you all know im running at 3.8ghz no crashes or BSOD's! woo thanks for the help, really appreciate it.
  12. o so its ok if i set the voltage to 1.4 and above to make sure im getting enough juice to the cpu? is 1.36v enough for 3.8ghz?
  13. ok guys im on 3.8ghz with bios setting at 1.39v, but the weird part is on everest it reads 1.36v? which one is the true reading?
  14. 50-54 on load, only went up to 70 with intelburn test(maximum setting) sorry if you meant my northbridge, im not sure on that i never really got temp reading off it. my my overall motherboard temp always remains below 50
  15. thanks wevsspot, will try it out and get back ASAP
